Welcome Letter from the Principal
July 7, 2021

Dear Plumbrook Families,

My name is Jacqueline Zawierucha and I am truly honored to introduce myself as the Proud Principal of Plumbrook Elementary School.  I am fortunate to be joining such an outstanding team of students, parents, and staff to continue the long-established tradition of educational excellence at Plumbrook Elementary.

I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Michigan State University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Oakland University and a Master of Education, Curriculum and Leadership degree from Wayne State University.  I am a product of Utica Community Schools and it has been a part of who I am from a very young age.  I have been a student, teacher, parent, mentor, Elementary Media Specialist, Instructional technology coach and most recently, as many of you know, an Administrative Intern at Plumbrook Elementary.  In 2019, I was awarded with the honor of Utica Community Schools Teacher of the year.

It is my commitment to the community to provide an educational environment where all students feel safe, respected, confident, and, ultimately, are successful.  I know that none of this is possible without a partnership with the Plumbrook Elementary staff and families.  My goal is to create a bridge between school and home where we can work together to ensure our children are engaged, supported, and challenged each day they are here.  I have three school aged children of my own and know from experience how extraordinarily important this relationship is.
I eagerly await seeing the Plumbrook Knight students and parents. I am confident that we are going to have a fabulous journey together.  In August, you will be hearing more information about the upcoming school year.   In the meantime, I wish you a summer full of sunshine and beautiful memories.

Mrs. Jacqueline Zawierucha
Principal, Plumbrook Elementary
